City of Justice obtains EMAS and DGQA certification

The concessionaire Urbicsa has relied on ERF’s expertise to achieve the EMAS environmental regulation that promotes environmental innovation and eco-efficiency


The concessionaire Urbicsa, in charge of managing the building complex of the City of Justice in Hospitalet de Llobregat and Barcelona, has obtained the EMAS standardized environmental management certification, a regulation with which it is committed to promoting environmental innovation and eco-efficiency, progressively reducing its environmental impacts, as well as properly managing the waste produced directly and indirectly, contributing to the sustainable development of its activities. The company relied on ERF as an expert consultant in energy efficiency and sustainability to successfully achieve certification.

An environmentally friendly company

Some years ago, Urbicsa has been working in harmony in terms of the environment with the aim of helping to comply with the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda. In fact, in November 2022, Urbicsa obtained the Environmental Quality Guarantee Distinction in the “Offices” category. ERF collaborated in the environmental review and definition of the strategy for the implementation of the Distinction, the compilation and preparation of the accreditation documentation and the management and coordination of the process of obtaining the Distinction”.

It has also implemented a number of projects to reduce its carbon footprint on the environment; the recycling system protocol, the water reuse system, the parking lots adapted for the use of bicycles, scooters and electric cars, the new equipment to improve energy consumption, and the installation of LED street lights and photovoltaic panels are highlightet.
