Support for Sant Boi de Llobregat's candidacy for the Green Leaf Award
Motivation
Sant Boi de Llobregat has a long history of municipal action in sustainability. It has been recognized twice with the Most Sustainable City Award from the Environmental Forum Foundation, and has developed ambitious city strategies, such as the EDUSI, the Urban Agenda 2030 and the City Strategy 2030.
Thus, it is a candidate for the Green Leaf 2026 award, granted by the European Commission. The award recognizes cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants that demonstrate a notable commitment to environmental sustainability. With this candidacy, Sant Boi wants to reaffirm its commitment to improving the environment and the quality of life of its citizens.
Results
ERF has worked closely with the Sant Boi City Council for the drafting of the documentation that assesses its past, present and future environmental development, which addresses areas such as air quality, water, biodiversity, waste and circular economy, noise, mitigation and adaptation to climate change. Key municipal strategies and actions have also been identified, such as the Sant Boi Respira + Verd project.
