Strategies for agricultural and tourism enterprises working in the Montseny Biosphere Reserve
Motivation
Within the framework of the European LIFE CLINOMICS project, dedicated to promoting resilience and adaptation to climate change in local economy projects, ERF has developed the adaptation tool for companies in the agricultural and tourism sector of the Montseny Biosphere Reserve. This document serves as a roadmap for companies to optimally manage their activities in a climate change scenario. Montseny, together with the territories of Alt Penedès and Terres de l’Ebre, has been chosen as a representative ecosystem of Catalonia to participate in the project
Results
The process of analyzing risks and vulnerabilities, and the dialogue with the administrations and sectoral representatives of the territory has resulted in the following:
- A guide on adaptation to climate change for agricultural and tourism companies in the Montseny Biosphere Reserve, including lines of action, opportunities, risks and best practices, among others.
- A communication package for companies in the agricultural and tourism sectors to inform customers and employees about climate risks, the vulnerability of the territory and the actions that can be taken to minimize risks and vulnerability.
- The edition of different informative elements (leaflets, posters…) with advice and compilation of good practices and recommendations for Montseny operators.
