Igualada City Council obtains Next Generation funding to boost local energy communities

In 2024, the new Community Transformation Office will open offering technical, legal and administrative support to citizens

The Igualada City Council has obtained the IDAE grant, which will be used for the creation of the Community Transformation Office (OTC) to provide advice on energy efficiency and to disseminate and promote local energy communities among different segments of the population.

A specific web page will be available and ad hoc events will be organized for professional sectors (property administrators, installers, etc.), or of a more general and informative nature.

ERF has supported the drafting of the application and preparation of the technical documentation. The resolution has positively evaluated aspects such as: scope, effectiveness, social and gender impact, territorial cooperation and replicability, among others.

The budget that will be allocated amounts to 148,282.10 euros, of which 103,797.47 euros are part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU, with the collaboration of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).
