AMB is a finalist of New European Bauhaus Prizes 2024 competition

We have elaborated a Sustainability Protocol for the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona that has reached the last phase of the European Commission’s competition.

Following our path towards the creation of sustainable solutions for a better future, we have developed a Sustainability Protocol for the AMB.. This Protocol is intended to be a transversal tool for support and orientation towards the sustainability.

This is a transdisciplinary project with 19 mandatory criteria grouped into 6 areas: energy, water, materials, cross-cutting analysis, comfort and site sustainability. These criteria are designed for different types of specific projects, such as urban projects for open spaces, metropolitan, equipment buildings or housing.

The Protocol marks a firm step toward promoting sustainability in infrastructure design and construction of urban infrastructures in the metropolitan region of Barcelona. In addition, it has been tested through its implementation in a dozen of real projects of the Directorate of Public Space Services, demonstrating their effectiveness and feasibility in practical situations.

We are very pleased with the development and results of this project and we strongly believe in the importance of promoting sustainable and responsible construction practices.
